Fenrir is the father of all wolves in Norse mythology. Wolves were, and continue to be a powerful totem symbol and have been respected for millennium because of their strength, speed and prowess. Stoneware was the preferred material for vessels in older times as the stoneware is not conductive. It maintains the temperature of its contents much as a thermos does.

The solid material also protects the contents from light. UV rays can damage or spoil certain brews, oils and vinegars. The stoneware prevents any light from getting in.

These vessels are available in 0.75L and 0.5L sizes.

These bottles were professionally made and glazed in Germany with the carving added by Celtic Hammer Club in the USA.

Mystic White Stag Stoneware Bottles

$55.00

Stags (male deer species with antlers) have played a role in many mythologies and legends, especially in the North. The Celts believed the white elk (sometimes referred to as a white hart) to be messengers from the other world. Similarly, the Norse saw the white elk as symbol of divine blessing and protection to those it graced with sight of itself. The legends of King Arthur indicated that the white stag had a supernatural ability to avoid capture, and pursuit of the magical beast was akin to a spiritual quest.

The rune on the stag's forehead is Algiz; an Elder Futhark rune associated with deer species and stags for it's resemblance to the antlers of the stag. The rune has many other meanings and associations, many related to spiritual connection to the gods as the branches of the rune reach up to the heavens.

Similarly, the triskele spiral emblem between the stag's antlers was a powerful spiritual symbol to the Celts. This artwork truly encompasses powerful symbolism from thousands of years of Northern history and traditions.

Wild Boar Stoneware Bottles

$45.00 - $55.00
The boar was used as an emblem in many instances during antiquity and the Early Middle Ages. The Knocknagael Boar Stone is a well-known Pictish stone with a depiction of a boar emblem dating to ca. the 7th century. The name of the Orkney islands in Scotland is interpreted as being derived from the Celtic word for "pig", presumably from a Pictish tribe which had the boar or wild pig as their emblem. The boar also appears to have been used as an emblem during the Viking Age, reflected in the mythological boar Gullinbursti, a representation of the god Freyr, and in Hildisvíni ("battle pig"), the boar of the goddess Freya, and also mentioned in Beowulf as a figure of a boar worn in battle on the crest of a helmet.

Elks and stags were, and continue to be a powerful totem symbol and have been respected for millennium because of their agility, speed and prowess. Deer antlers and antler headdresses have been used heavily throughout history by shamans and as a way of depicting gods in artwork. The bull elk or stag has often been used to represent super natural folkloric creatures that were stewards of nature and the forest. The male deer has often been a symbol of virility.

Warriors Toast Stoneware Bottles

$55.00

Almost all cultures have special words or toasts to acknowledge the activity of bonding with others over drinks. The Celtic and Norse tribes were no exception. Fermented beverages played an important role in rituals and sacrifices. It brought people together to help create a sense of camaraderie and community. Mead and ale took on an almost supernatural power as they are often referenced in sagas and mythology. Mead was referred to as the “nectar of the gods.” Much of the Saxon epic poem Beowulf is set in a mead hall. So raise your drink, and toast to the long held traditions of the past. Skál! Sláinte! Cheers!
