Mjolnir Stoneware Bottles
Thor, son of Odin, god of Thunder, protector of Midgard. Thor was a popular Norse god among the common farmers of Scandinavia and other Germanic speaking cultures as he was a protector of the people. Thor’s magical war hammer, Mjölnir, is the centerpiece of my artwork here. Mjölnir pendants were worn by many including the Vikings in the Middle Ages as a symbol of Thor’s protection and strength. Thor continues to be a popular figure in modern culture.
Vintage style stoneware bottles carved with copyrighted Mjölnir artwork by Celtic Hammer Club.
Stoneware was the preferred material for vessels in older times as the stoneware is not conductive. It maintains the temperature of its contents much as a thermos does.
The solid material also protects the contents from light. UV rays can damage or spoil certain brews, oils and vinegars. The stoneware prevents any light from getting in.
These vessels are available in 0.75L sizes in either matte black or glossy white glaze and with either a cork or swing top.
These bottles were professionally made and glazed in Germany with the carving added by Celtic Hammer Club in the USA.
