A sgian dubh (pronounced skee-ən-DOO) and meaning "black knife" in Gaelic is a small, single edged knife worn as part of traditional highland dress along with the kilt. It is traditionally worn on the leg.
Having it's origins in at least the 17th century, the sgian dubh acted as an all purpose utility knife or as a weapon. It's now a symbol of Highland Celtic culture and identity.
Each blade is hand forged to order from scratch. Production time may vary depending on the production schedule.
